ROCKLAND, Massachusetts — Two people were hospitalized following a serious rollover crash in Rockland early Tuesday morning after a vehicle left the roadway, overturned, and crashed through a residential property’s fence, according to local authorities.

Emergency crews were dispatched to Forest Street after receiving reports of a major motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, first responders found a heavily damaged vehicle that had rolled over and come to rest after smashing through a fence surrounding a nearby home.

Vehicle Caught Fire

Authorities said the crash became even more dangerous when the vehicle caught fire following the impact. Emergency personnel quickly moved to secure the scene and prevent the blaze from spreading. Firefighters worked alongside police officers and rescue crews to manage the hazardous situation and assist those involved.

Occupant Trapped in Wreckage

One of the occupants was trapped inside the wrecked vehicle after the crash. Due to the severity of the damage, rescuers reportedly had to use heavy equipment to free the individual from the mangled vehicle. The technical rescue operation added to the complexity of the emergency response.

After being extricated, the trapped occupant was transported to a hospital for medical treatment. A second person involved in the crash was also taken to a hospital. Authorities have not publicly released information regarding the extent of their injuries.

Investigation Underway

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the crash. Officials have not yet disclosed what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway, nor have they released details regarding speed, impairment, weather conditions, or any other potential contributing factors.

Investigators are expected to examine evidence from the scene, vehicle damage, and witness accounts as part of the ongoing inquiry.

Impact on Neighborhood

The crash caused significant damage to the residential property where the vehicle came to rest. The destruction of the fence highlights the force of the collision, though no injuries to residents of the home have been reported. Emergency crews remained on scene for an extended period while rescue operations, fire suppression efforts, and cleanup activities were carried out.

Current Status

As of the latest reports, both crash victims were hospitalized following the incident. No additional information regarding their conditions has been released by authorities. The investigation remains active.
