A tense road rage confrontation in Hudson, New Hampshire, escalated into a dangerous incident when police say a driver intentionally used his vehicle to strike another car multiple times before attempting to confront the other motorist. The incident led to the arrest of a 70-year-old Hudson man, who now faces several serious charges.
Police Respond to Afternoon Road Rage Call
According to Hudson police, officers were called to the area of Library Street at around 3:45 p.m. Thursday after receiving reports of a road rage incident. Investigators later determined that the situation quickly escalated from a traffic dispute into a violent encounter involving two vehicles.
Police said the suspect, identified as Richard Feener of Hudson, allegedly used his vehicle to intentionally hit another driver’s vehicle several times. The repeated impacts turned the vehicle itself into a dangerous weapon, according to investigators.
Driver Allegedly Tried to Enter Victim’s Vehicle
Authorities said that after crashing into the other vehicle, Feener exited his car and approached the other driver. Police allege that he attempted to gain access to the driver’s door before returning to his own vehicle.
Investigators said the situation escalated further when Feener allegedly struck the other vehicle again before leaving the area. The driver then fled the scene, according to police.
Police Locate Suspect Shortly After Incident
Law enforcement officers were able to locate Feener a short time later. During their investigation, police determined that he was under the influence of alcohol. Officials reported that his alcohol level was approximately twice the legal limit.
No injuries were reported from the incident, according to authorities.
Multiple Charges Filed Against Hudson Man
Following the investigation, Feener was arrested and charged with several offenses, including:
- Three counts of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon
- Aggravated driving while intoxicated
- Conduct after an accident
- Disorderly conduct
Police held him overnight at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections, and he was scheduled to appear in Nashua District Court for arraignment.

Authorities continue to warn drivers that minor disagreements on the road can quickly become dangerous situations. Experts recommend avoiding confrontation, staying inside the vehicle when possible, and contacting police if a traffic dispute becomes aggressive.
