Florida-based doughnut chain closes sole Mass. location

A popular Florida-born doughnut chain has officially closed its only Massachusetts restaurant, marking the end of its brief presence in the Bay State.

Dandee Donut Factory, known for its classic doughnuts and full-service diner menu, announced that its Revere location permanently closed its doors on June 7, 2026. The closure leaves the company operating exclusively in Florida once again.

Revere Location Shuts Down

The now-closed restaurant was located at 1141 Revere Beach Parkway in Revere and served as the chain’s lone Massachusetts outpost.

In a message shared with customers on social media, the company thanked the local community for its support throughout its time in Massachusetts.

The statement expressed appreciation for customers who regularly visited the restaurant for its fresh doughnuts, breakfast offerings, and diner-style meals, while also confirming that operations at the Revere location had ended.

The company did not provide a specific reason for the closure.

A Popular Name in Florida

Dandee Donut Factory was originally founded in the 1980s in South Florida and has built a loyal following over the decades.

The brand is particularly known for:

  • More than 50 varieties of doughnuts
  • Fresh-made pastries
  • Breakfast and lunch offerings
  • Traditional diner-style service
  • Muffins, bagels, and coffee selections

Its reputation in Florida helped attract attention when the company expanded beyond its home state.

Massachusetts Expansion Comes to an End

The Revere restaurant represented the chain’s attempt to establish a presence in New England. While the location attracted local customers and visitors looking for an alternative to larger doughnut chains, the expansion ultimately proved short-lived.

With the closure of the Revere store, Dandee Donut Factory no longer has any operating locations in Massachusetts.

The move highlights the challenges many regional restaurant brands face when expanding into highly competitive markets, particularly in New England, where established coffee and doughnut chains dominate consumer preferences.

Remaining Locations Stay Open

Although Massachusetts customers will no longer be able to visit a local Dandee Donut Factory, the company confirmed that its Florida restaurants remain open.

The chain continues to operate locations in:

  • Pompano Beach
  • Deerfield Beach
  • Margate

Company officials indicated they remain committed to serving customers in Florida and preserving the traditional recipes and classic doughnut-making methods that helped establish the brand decades ago.

Impact on Local Customers

For many Revere-area residents, the closure means losing a neighborhood spot that offered both fresh doughnuts and a full diner menu under one roof.

Customers on social media shared disappointment about the shutdown, with many thanking employees for their service and expressing appreciation for the restaurant’s selection of pastries and breakfast options.

While the Massachusetts chapter has come to an end, Dandee Donut Factory’s leadership suggested that the brand will continue focusing on its Florida operations, where it first built its reputation and customer base.

Looking Ahead

The closure of Dandee Donut Factory’s Revere restaurant underscores the ongoing challenges facing restaurant operators amid changing consumer habits, rising operating costs, and intense competition within the food service industry.

For now, the Florida-based chain is returning to its roots, concentrating on its remaining Sunshine State locations while leaving behind memories for Massachusetts customers who embraced the brand during its time in Revere.
