A Massachusetts man with an extensive criminal history was arrested Tuesday after allegedly leading police on a dangerous pursuit through multiple communities, triggering a large-scale law enforcement response that included K-9 teams, drones, and officers from several departments.

Authorities identified the suspect as 54-year-old Dominick Revell of Franklin, who was taken into custody after a lengthy search following a vehicle chase that stretched from Bellingham into Franklin and prompted residents to avoid parts of the area while police worked to locate him.

Traffic Stop Sparks Pursuit

According to police, the incident began shortly before 9 a.m. Tuesday when a Bellingham police officer attempted to stop a Ford Ranger pickup truck being driven by Revell on Pulaski Boulevard.

Instead of pulling over, investigators say Revell refused to stop, leading officers on a pursuit that quickly crossed town lines and entered neighboring Franklin.

Police reported that Revell was wanted on several active warrants and was allegedly operating the vehicle despite having a revoked driver’s license.

As the chase continued, Franklin police joined the pursuit in an effort to stop the fleeing vehicle.

Stop Sticks Deployed During Chase

Law enforcement officers attempted several tactics to bring the pursuit to a safe conclusion.

Authorities said stop sticks were successfully deployed on Grove Street in Franklin, puncturing the passenger-side tires of the pickup truck.

Despite suffering significant tire damage, the vehicle continued moving through town streets, creating a dangerous situation for officers and nearby residents.

Investigators said the truck traveled through parts of Franklin and at one point approached the Medway town line before eventually coming to a stop on Pond Street.

During the pursuit, police reported that several mailboxes were struck by the vehicle.

Suspect Flees on Foot

The incident did not end when the pickup truck stopped.

Police say Revell exited the vehicle and immediately fled on foot in an attempt to avoid arrest.

Authorities described a dramatic escape effort in which the suspect allegedly jumped over a fence, crossed a small river by swimming, and then disappeared into a wooded area.

The foot chase prompted police to expand their search operation and establish a perimeter around the area.

Massive Search Operation Launched

Following the suspect’s escape, officers from multiple agencies launched an extensive search effort.

Police deployed:

  • Regional K-9 units
  • Drone operators
  • Ground search teams
  • Patrol officers from multiple departments

Investigators established a perimeter around several neighborhoods while search teams worked to track the suspect’s movements.

One K-9 team reportedly followed a scent trail to a residence on Partridge Street in Franklin that was already known to law enforcement and listed on Revell’s active warrants.

Officers searched the property but initially did not locate him.

Residents Urged to Avoid Area

As the investigation unfolded, Franklin police issued public alerts advising residents to stay away from portions of Pond Street and nearby neighborhoods.

A large number of police vehicles were seen throughout the area as officers continued their search.

Authorities emphasized that there was no immediate threat to the public but asked residents to remain alert and report any suspicious activity.

By early afternoon, police announced that units had cleared the immediate search area, though efforts to locate the suspect remained active.

Revell Eventually Taken Into Custody

Later Tuesday evening, police confirmed that Revell had been located and arrested.

Authorities said he was taken into custody in Franklin without further incident and transported to the Bellingham Police Department for booking and processing.

Details regarding exactly where and how officers located him have not yet been released.

Multiple Charges Expected

Police indicated that Revell is expected to face numerous criminal and motor vehicle-related charges stemming from the incident.

Bellingham investigators said they were seeking additional charges including:

  • Failure to stop for police
  • Reckless operation of a motor vehicle
  • Operating after suspension or revocation
  • Speeding
  • Other motor vehicle violations

Franklin police are also expected to pursue separate charges related to the pursuit within their jurisdiction.

Investigation Continues

Authorities continue reviewing evidence from the chase, including police reports, witness statements, and any available surveillance footage.

The incident serves as another reminder of the risks posed by high-speed pursuits, particularly when suspects attempt to evade law enforcement through residential neighborhoods and multiple communities.

Police have not released additional information regarding Revell’s upcoming court appearance, but investigators say the case remains active as further charges are prepared.

Anyone who witnessed portions of the pursuit or has relevant information is encouraged to contact local law enforcement authorities.
