WESTERN AVENUE CELEBRATES FIRST SATURDAY OUTSIDE FOR SEPTEMBER ~ Artists take to the parking lot to show you their creative soul

Western Avenue artists had so much fun hosting their July Open Studios outside that they are doing it again for September.  Their usual First Saturday Open Studios has morphed into an Outdoor Art Market taking place on Saturday, September 5th from noon until 4pm. The artists will take over the upper parking lot by the Lofts building and they invite you to take in the fresh air and some art at the same time.

Henry Marte, Western Avenue’s marketing manager, is expecting more artists to participate in September. “We had a lot of artists check out how July was set up and the engagement with the public. They liked what they saw. Their fellow artists were happy to talk with folks again and have the opportunity to share their art and have many pieces go to new homes. We definitely will have more artists participating.”

The Loading Dock Gallery is open to the public at their space inside the Studios building from noon – 4pm that Saturday, as well as on Friday and Sunday. The Loading Dock Gallery will be hosting their September show, Urban Elements, throughout the month. You can see this show online at http://www.theloadingdockgallery.com/.

The food truck on site will be Empanada Dada and hopefully an ice cream truck as well! Navigation Brewing will open at 4pm.

The Outdoor Art Market is organized through Western Avenue’s Facebook event page (https://www.facebook.com/WesternAvenueStudios). For a little more information on artists that will be showcased, as well as guidelines for the event, read about it on the WA blog (https://westernavenuestudios.com/blog/). Rain date is Sunday September 6th.

Face coverings will be required to be worn and guests are asked to respect physical distancing. The Studios and Lofts buildings are closed to the public at this time, so there will be no restrooms available during the market.
