The Loading Dock Presents: Coastal Impressions in Paint and Pixels, Show through June 30th, 2019
Come and revel in the beauty of the New England sea shore at the Loading Dock Gallery’s exhibit Coastal Impressions in Paint and Pixels. Explore John Baumann’s compelling photographs of iconic New England fishing villages and contemporary landscape painter Bethany Peck’s “Inner Light” expressionistic oil paintings on copper and reflective metal.
Baumann, Originally from West Texas, is drawn to the history of the people and communities along the New England Seacoast. His images reveal the hidden treasures found in the intricate detail of structures, reflections and commercial fishing vessels. Baumann discovers unique locations and patiently waits for pleasing natural light to cascade over his subjects. The resulting photographs embody peace, inspiration, and recollections of pleasant seaside memories.
paintings use natural elements of Heaven, Earth, Water and Fire to evoke
emotion. She is not interested in literal interpretations of her subjects, but
instead, paints in an affective state in which joy, sorrow fear and
anger are translated onto the canvas. To abstract the practical,
she emphasizes color and form to create her mesmerizing paintings. In her
